Goals from Bertrand Traoré and Ollie Watkins were enough to secure Aston Villa a win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Watkins’ goal was the striker’s 9th in his last 11 games and his incredible form has helped his side go on a four-game winning streak. Villa had won just two of their 11 matches prior to manager Unai Emery’s arrival so the fact they are now challenging for European places is testament to the fine work that the Spaniard has done during his time in charge.

Newcastle found themselves a goal down and playing poorly at halftime during their matchup with Brentford on Saturday and if it weren’t for a Nick Pope penalty save thi9ngs could have been much worse. In a much better second period for Newcastle an own goal from Brentford goalkeeper David Raya, and a fine strike from forward Alexander Isak ensured they took all three points. With five wins in a row heading into a huge game against Aston Villa, Newcastle will be hoping their fine form continues and they can hold off the challenge of Man United for third place in the league.
