We had the fun this year of fans being able to attend the Draft in person, and it means we got to see a lively Cleveland crowd to welcome their new rookies.
Last season was an almighty step forward as the offense was brilliant and they pushed Kansas City all the way in the playoffs, so an improved defense should see them contend again next year.
The first two picks did address the biggest needs on defense, and there’s every reason to be excited by what this Draft class could bring.
Cleveland Browns 2021 Draft Picks
|1||26||Greg Newsome II||CB|
|5||153||Tony Fields II||LB|
|5||169||Richard LeCounte III||S|
Any defence that contains Myles Garrett is always going to have the ability to get to the QB, but they needed extra help in covering receivers and allowing the rushers to get home.
Greg Newsome was one of the higher rated CBs in this draft so that should help, while Owusu-Koramoah was slated to be a 1st rounder on most mocks so he could be a steal in the 2nd.
The offense also gets some help with Schwartz looking like a solid selection from a deep WR class, and it’s going to be fun to see if they can build on the success they saw last season.
