What are the best NBA bets today?

Tuesday, January 25th is set to see nine games take place which should make for an exciting night of basketball. Here at VegasOdds, we have picked the best NBA bets today to put cash in your pockets.

NBA: Denver Nuggets (-7) at Detroit Pistons

The Denver Nuggets come into their second head-to-head matchup (in as many days) against the Detroit Pistons with a 117-111 win at home. The Pistons had absolutely no answers for Nikola Jokic, who scored 34 points to go along with nine rebounds and eight assists. The Nuggets had a bunch of contributors to help Jokic as five players all reached double digits.

The Pistons on the other hand shot particularly well against the Nuggets, shooting 56% from the field and 38% from 3-point range. They also played as a cohesive unit where four of their players all scored 18 points. The troubles in this game for Pistons were that they were turnover-prone, turning the ball over 22 times and they were outscored in the paint.

Should be much of the same in this second matchup between these two teams. Jokic should have his way again in the paint against the Pistons, limit turnovers and just make the Pistons work for every possession.

Take the Denver Nuggets to win back-to-back games and cover the spread while doing so.

Denver Nuggets -7-110

NBA: L.A. Clippers (+5) at Washington Wizards

The Clippers come into this matchup looking to regain some momentum they had before heading to the big apple to take on the New York Knicks. Prior to that game with the Knicks, the Clippers were 3-0 ATS with straight-up wins against the Sixers and Pacers, while narrowly losing a close OT thriller to the Denver Nuggets. They will look to regain their form against the Wizards here come Tuesday night.

The Wizards’ struggles are at their peak right about now. They are coming into this matchup with the Clippers on the heels of three straight losses. They also are 1-9 ATS their last 10 games and are only 4-6 straight-up in those games as well. The Wizards’ most recent game saw them struggle mightily from the floor shooting only 35% and 24% from 3-point range against the mediocre Boston Celtics team.

It’s hard to not back the narrative that the Wizards are just an awful team covering the spread, especially when they are 2-8 ATS when favored by 4.5 points or more this season. The Wizards are also one of the worst defensive teams in the league, which bodes well for the Clippers who have scored 100+ in each of their last four games. Expect this game to be a back and forth affair until the Clippers pull this one out late or end up just covering the spread.

L.A. Clippers +5-110

NBA: Houston Rockets (+3.5) vs San Antonio Spurs

This is a matchup between two teams at the bottom of the barrel in the Western Conference. Neither team have a chance at making the post-season but they are still young and hungry to play for the future. With that said, there is still some value to be had in this game on the side of the home team.

The Rockets come into this matchup almost stunning the Golden State Warriors and winning three of their last five while going 4-1 ATS. They were a 7.5-point home underdog in their last head-to-head matchup with the Spurs. Not only did they cover but they won straight-up and had one of their best offensive performances of the season. They shot 55% from the floor and 44% from 3-point range, while their entire starting five scored in the double digits.

The Spurs aren’t having the same type of late-season resurgence as the Rockets are. They are only 2-3 straight-up and ATS in their last five games and only 3-7 ATS in their last 10. Their struggles come on the defensive end as they have allowed 8 of their last 10 opponents to all score 100+ and are getting outscored by a -5.1 margin over that span.

This should be a fun, high-scoring matchup between two teams that don’t play much defense at all. When it’s all said and done you can expect the Rockets to outlast trading blows with the Spurs to get back into the win column.

Houston Rockets +3.5-110

So there you have it – those are our three best NBA bets today.

Best of luck to everyone.
