The two meet in the Champions League quarterfinal and their first game is taking place on Chelsea’s turf, Stamford Bridge in London. That’s where Chelsea beat Real Madrid 2-0 last May in the UFC semifinal, which could be the reason why oddsmakers are leaning toward the hosts again.

Chelsea Looking to Rebound After a Shocking Loss on Saturday

Last Saturday, Chelsea suffered their fourth defeat in the Premier League in the 2021-22 season, as well as their second at Stamford Bridge. It happened against Brentford, a team playing its maiden season in the top English flight. And it wasn’t a minor loss – Chelsea got blown out 4-1 by the +900 underdogs.

It was a shocking defeat, although there were some signs of an upcoming storm in Chelsea’s previous couple of games.

For instance, Chelsea scored only twice against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup, despite playing with its best XI on the pitch. Before that, they defeated Lille 2-1 in their most recent Champions League game.

Further, some rumors about problems in the locker room also surfaced recently. One of those is that Romelu Lukaku is working on an exit strategy. As reported, he’s looking for a move to PSG. Then, there’s his colleague from the Chelsea offense, Timo Werner, who recently admitted he feels more comfortable playing in his native Germany than in England.

Real Madrid Going for Another Title

Even though Barcelona has played one game fewer than Real Madrid in La Liga, the point difference between the two is enough for Los Blancos to relax. Carlo Ancelotti’s team currently has 12 points more than second-placed Barca. With just seven weeks left before the end of the season, it seems that they’re going to win the title.

That said, Real Madrid have the luxury to turn their focus to the Champions League. Oddsmakers don’t see this team as one of the top title favorites, though. Ahead of the quarterfinal clash with Chelsea, Real Madrid has Vegas odds of +1200. However, the odds would get much shorter if Los Blancos managed to do well on Wednesday. So, can they?

Chelsea vs Real Madrid Prediction

Even though Vegas odds suggest otherwise, Real Madrid could get a good result in England. Maybe Los Blancos aren’t going to win, but they could grab a draw or at least lose by a small margin. That said, betting on Real Madrid +1.5 seems like the right thing to do.
