After the blunder in the Raiders game, the Chiefs bounced back with a win over the Bills last Monday. With a 5-1 record, they are still the #1 favorites for winning the Super Bowl, with the odds of +375 at most NFL sportsbooks. Speaking of odds, they’re also the favorites in the Chiefs at Broncos Week 7 game, which they’re expected to win easily. The team from Denver, however, has been playing well lately, with two straight wins. Can they upset the odds? Let’s examine their chances in this preview!
- Date: Sunday, October 25

Chiefs at Broncos Week 7 Odds

|Denver Broncos||+10.5 (-125)||+360||Under 47.5 (-115)|
Chiefs Back in a Winning Mood
On Sunday, October 11, the Chiefs suffered their first defeat of the season. Shockingly, they lost to +450 underdogs, the Las Vegas Raiders. The loss sparked a discussion about the Chiefs Super Bowl chances, but they shut down the critics in the following round. This Monday, they beat the Buffalo Bills by 26-17, covering the 5.5-point spread.
The game saw some fantastic performances on the Chiefs offense players, particularly their rookie running-back Clyde Edwards-Helaire who ran for 161 yards on 26 carries. The NFL’s highest-earning player, Patrick Mahomes also had a good game, throwing 21-for-26 for 225 yards. He made two touchdown passes, both to the tight end Travis Kelce.
Although the final score does not suggest a demolition job for the Chiefs, there’s one interesting fact about it – the Bills at Chiefs game saw the reigning Super Bowl champs making 46 rushing attempts. That’s more than they ever did in Andy Reid’s 8-years-long reign as the Chiefs head coach.
Chiefs Defense Getting Better
When discussing the Chiefs, their offense always comes up first. No surprise there, but their defense also deserves some praise. In fact, they were the ones to bring the Chiefs a win over the Bills on Monday evening.
Even though the Chiefs did not get even one sack in that game, they did manage to tame the Bills quarterback, Josh Allen. The 24-year-old has been one of the best QBs in the league so far and one of the top candidates for the MVP award. Still, against the Chiefs, he threw for a season-low 122 yards.
If they managed to deal with Allen, they certainly can deal with the Broncos offense. The Colorado team has only 100 points scored after five games they played. The Chiefs did play one game more, but their tally is 175 points.
Drew Lock Returns as the Broncos QB
After struggling with a shoulder injury for weeks, Drew Lock made his return as the Broncos starting quarterback last Sunday. Before that, the last time he played was on September 20, when his team lost to the Steelers. This time, however, his team was victorious – they beat the Patriots at Gillette Stadium.
Lock had a relatively decent game in Massachusetts, with 189 yards passed, together with 2 interceptions and 2 sacks. Everyone’s expecting that the 23-year-old is going to improve his stats, although probably not too soon. At least not this weekend.
Chiefs at Broncos Week 7 Prediction
The Chiefs are the favorites in this game for a reason – they are the better team. The -10.5-point deficit might seem too drastic, but they are definitely capable of covering that spread. When it comes to points, with the Chiefs defense getting serious, we probably aren’t going to see the Broncos scoring too much. That said, the total should be under 47.5.
