The winners of the Super Bowl LIV lost their first game of the 2020 season last weekend. They got outplayed by the Raiders, in a game in which the Chiefs were 10-point favorites. Something similar happened with the Bills, who got demolished by the Titans. As a result, both Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills now have a 0.800 winning percentage. Each team would like to get back on the winning streak ASAP, which makes the Chiefs @ Bills Week 6 game even more interesting.

Josh Allen vs Patrick Mahomes
With Dak Prescott probably out of the rest of the season due to an injury, the Bills QB Josh Allen is the passing leader of the NFL. With 1,589 yards, he’s two spots above Patrick Mahomes who’s passed for 1,474 yards so far.
Allen has also made one more touchdown pass than Mahomes, getting his tally to 14. He, however, has had two more interceptions than his rival, Mahomes who’s currently at only 1 interception.
What’s interesting is that these two elite quarterbacks have never squared off in the NFL, meaning that the Chiefs @ Bills game is going to be the first Allen vs Mahomes clash in history.
Betting Odds Favoring the Champs
Led by the highest-earning player in the NFL Patrick Mahomes II, the Kansas City Chiefs are still the #1 favorites for winning the Super Bowl this season. They did it the last time, beating the 49ers on February 2. The Super Bowl win was just one of many wins in their winning streak that started in November. From November 18, 2019, to October 11, 2020, the Chiefs won every single game.
However, on Monday, they lost to the Las Vegas Raiders 40-32, in a game played at Arrowhead Stadium. Literally all the NFL sportsbooks thought the Chiefs were going to cruise past the opponent, giving them the moneyline odds of -666. The Raiders, however, had their quarterback Josh Jacobs playing at top level, outshining Mahomes on the opposite end and getting the Raiders a win at +480 odds.
Once again, the Chiefs are the favorites, but this time, they’re facing an even tougher opponent. The Buffalo Bills did lose their previous game, but before that, they were nothing short of brilliant.
Bills Losing to Coronavirus-Ridden Titans
The Bills game against the Titans almost ended up canceled as the team from Tennessee has a large number of COVID-19 cases confirmed only a few days before the game. In fact, the game was initially scheduled for Sunday, before being moved to Tuesday. It seems that everyone thought the game was going to get canceled, including the Bills, who probably started preparing for the game with the Chiefs too soon.
That offers an explanation as to why did they get absolutely destroyed by the Titans. Of course, no one’s trying to underestimate the performance of Ryan Tannehill, who got four touchdowns (3 TD passes & 1 TD run) for the Titans, helping his team win 42-16. Still, the fact is that the pre-game odds were heavily in the favor of the Bills, going as far as -181 moneyline.
Chiefs @ Bills Prediction
Oddsmakers believe the Chiefs are going to get this, but the Bills mustn’t be underestimated. This team is fantastic in the offense, with 139 points in five games of the season. Unfortunately, for them, the Chiefs have been even better, with 10 points more.
When it comes to defending, the Bills have conceded a lot. With 142 points, their defense belongs to the bottom half of the AFC table. Still, the fact is that 42 of those points happened in the game against the Titans.
Anything can happen in this game, so even if Allen and his buddies get themselves a win, you should not be surprised. This is the reason why we have to advise against betting on the outcome of the game. Instead, we say go for points. It would be really strange if an Allen vs Mahomes clash didn’t see a lot of points.
Our Chiefs @ Bills Pick:
- Over 57.5 Points
