Cristiano Ronaldo Keeps on Bringing Big Profits to Juventus Despite Not Too Impressive Performances

Cristiano Ronaldo, who’s turned 35 earlier this month, has been bringing money to Juventus’ account despite the team not playing as well as in the past couple of years. Ahead of round 24, Ronaldo’s team is in second place, trailing behind Inter Milan.

Ronaldo has scored a total of 20 goals in the Italian Serie A so far and has a chance to increase his tally this afternoon when Juventus plays Brescia at Allianz Stadium in Turin.

Ronaldo’s Contribution Off the Pitch

Since he’s joined the reigning Italian champion in 2018 for a fee of over $120M, the legendary Portuguese player has made an impact on the team both on and off the pitch. His arrival to Turin has done wonders for Juventus’ finances.

According to Spanish-language sports news outlet AS, the deal Adidas expanded with Juventus came as a result of Ronaldo’s arrival. Before his move to Italy, Adidas was paying a bit over $25M as the manufacturer of Juventus’ kit. Because the German company wants to be linked with the soccer superstar, Adidas boosted the deal by more than two times.

A similar situation is when Juventus’ deal with car manufacturer Jeep is concerned. Prior to CR7’s arrival, the company was paying about $20M per season. With Ronaldo in the club, the figure has increased by three times.

More recently, Allianz has prolonged the sponsorship deal with the Italian team. The new deal will last until 2030 if not renewed before and will bring more than $10M per season to Juve’s bank account. In return, this team’s home ground will keep bearing the name the Allianz Stadium.

Can Ronaldo Help Juve Win Another Title?

Cristiano Ronaldo came to Juventus in 2018 after spending nearly a decade in Real Madrid. The Spanish club is where he won a number of titles but individual and collective. With Ronaldo in the team, Los Blancos won four Champions League trophies, as well as two La Liga titles. During that period, Ronaldo also won Ballon d’Or five times.

Since he’s joined Juventus, Cristiano Ronaldo has helped the team win the Serie A in 2018-19 season, as well as Suppercoppa Italiana in 2018. In the current season, Ronaldo is the top-scorer in Juve, with 5 goals fewer than Lazio’s Ciro Immobile who’s the top candidate for the Capocannoniere award.

Juventus is currently behind Inter Milan in the second position in Serie A. Ahead of round 24, the two sides have the exact same number of points, which is 54. The reason why Nerazzurri are at the top of the table is that they have a better score difference. Still, the tiebreaker in Serie A is based on head-to-head duels.

What this means is that if the two finish the season on equal points, the winner is going to be the team with a better h2h record. Juve currently has a slight advantage in that regard, considering that this team has won against Inter Milan in the first half of the season.

Their next duel comes on the first day of March when Nerazzurri are coming to the Allianz Stadium. Some soccer bookmakers have already released the odds for this game, making Juventus the favorite.
