Game Preview
Florida Atlantic continued their Cinderella run on Thursday, coming back to defeat Tennessee and advance to their first-ever Elite 8. In a season where they claimed their 2nd-ever NCAA Tournament appearance and 1st-ever tourney win, the Owls just keep on setting records. A trip to the Final Four is looking more and more realistic. They’ll aim to close out their final season in the C-USA with a bang.

Kansas State won an absolute thriller against Michigan State, going back-and-forth in the 2nd half and eventually overtime. They were led by Markquis Nowell, who finished the game with 20 points, 19 assists, and 5 steals. Nowell’s 19 assists set a new tourney record and helped Kansas State to enter this game as a favorite to make the Final 4. They may get a Sugar Bowl rematch against Alabama.
Picks
Both Florida Atlantic and Kansas State exceeded all expectations this season. In a region with many of the top seeds eliminated, both now have an equal shot to grab a spot in the Final Four. The Wildcats have two superstars in Markquis Nowell and Keyontae Johnson, but will face an FAU team that does not let up. I could see this one going either way, but I’m feeling good about one more FAU upset.
