Game Preview
Florida Atlantic continued their historic run with an exciting win over Kansas State, once again closing a late-game deficit to regain the lead and win the game. The Owls have now added a Final Four appearance to their season of firsts, having already earned their first C-USA title, tourney win, Sweet 16, and Elite 8 appearance prior to this win. There’s no reason they can’t add one more first here.

San Diego State is having a historic run of their own, also earning the first Final Four appearance in both their school and conference’s history. The Aztecs have been led by their stifling defense, which continues to cause trouble for the opposition. In their four tourney games so far, they’ve given up just 57 ppg, while scoring 66.5 ppg, a near 10-point win margin. They’ll try to shut down FAU similarly.
Picks
This is a tough one to pick. Both teams are incredibly scrappy mid-majors that are having fantastic seasons, capped off by deep tourney runs. Each has earned their spot in the Final Four, and they have equal claim to a spot in the title game. I’m tempted to lean on SDSU’s defense, but FAU managed to get past even Tennessee’s top-ranked defense. I just see FAU pulling it off one more time here.
