Free MLB Pick: Brewers vs. Marlins Prediction, Odds (May 7)

  • Brewers Have Lost Five Straight Games
  • Marlins Riding Three-Game Winning Streak
  • Marlins are 2-1 vs. Brewers This Season

The Miami Marlins host the Milwaukee Brewers for a weekend series that begins on Friday night. Miami went into Milwaukee and won two out of three games from the Brewers in the month of April.

Milwaukee has now lost five straight games, and they no longer lead the NL Central Division. The Brewers are still 17-15 on the year, but they need to find a way to turn things around.

The Miami Marlins just swept the Arizona Diamondbacks at home, and they are looking to build on that momentum. Miami currently sits in fourth place in the NL East but are just two games out of first place.

Brewers vs. Marlins Preview

Brewers Need Bats to Wake Up

The Milwaukee Brewers are scuffling at the plate right now, and that is the biggest reason for their five-game losing streak. Milwaukee is near the bottom of the league in most offensive categories, and the team is missing a number of big bats due to injury.

Travis Shaw leads the team with five home runs and 22 RBIs, but there just isn’t a ton of power in the everyday lineup for Milwaukee. The Brewers have pitched the ball extremely well, and they will be looking to win this game with that staff.

Brent Suter (2-1, 2.70 ERA) starts for the Brewers, but this will likely be a game that features a number of pitchers.

Rodgers Dealing For Marlins

Trevor Rodgers takes the mound for Miami on Friday night, and that’s a great thing for the home team. Rodgers has gone 3-2 with a 1.91 ERA, and Miami definitely has a big strength with its starting rotation.

The Marlins are still looking for more offense as well, but they have been much better than the Brewers. Miami just scored 20 runs in the three-game sweep over Arizona, and they have been a great hitting team at home.

Jesus Aguilar leads the team with six home runs and 24 RBIs, but there is some young talent in the lineup as well.

Brewers vs. Marlins Prediction

The Milwaukee Brewers just haven’t been hitting the ball well of late, and they are facing a tough pitcher in this matchup. Milwaukee will turn things around at some point, but not until they get fully healthy.

Miami is not a team that is expected to compete for a playoff spot, but they are playing well at this time. The Marlins can give some teams some trouble, and they find a way to win the series opener.

Who will win the Brewers vs. Marlins game

Look for this to be a tight game throughout, but the Marlins get a clutch hit late to pick up their fourth straight win.
