Blackhawks vs. Panthers Preview
Panthers Playing Lights Out As Usual
As winners of four of their last five, I don’t see any losing streak insight for Florida. This is a team that is averaging 3.38 goals per game and scored at least four goals in those last four wins. This is something that has come from a great offensive output thanks to Left Wing Jonathan Huberdeau.
The Florida Panther has 32 points in 26 games while also supporting an impressive goal-keeping squad. Both Sergei Bobrovsky and Chris Driedger have save percentages that are over 90 percent leading to a team goals-against average of 2.85. This team is well-balanced and ready to make a deep playoff run when the time is right.
Blackhawks Riding Kane to the Top
As Patrick Kane goes, the Blackhawks tend to go clearly. The attacker has a crazy 40 points midway through the season from 11 goals and 29 assists. This has lead to the Blackhawks finally getting their goal average above three, something necessary for all the teams competing for a playoff spot this year.
The other bright spot for the Blackhawks has been their lethal powerplay. With 26 goals up a man on the year, Chicago is converting on over a third of their attempts when the other team commits a penalty. However, they have also given up 23 powerplay goals on the year as well thanks to over 200 penalty minutes as a team. That fact in itself is what makes me worrisome of the Blackhawks because a lethal powerplay is nothing if you just give it up on the other end.
Blackhawks vs. Panthers Prediction
Who wins the Blackhawks vs. Panthers game tonight:
I like the Panthers in this one. I feel like they are the more solid team all around because of their many scoring weapons and the fact that their offense does not run through one person. Ultimately this game will come down to who can keep the penalties at the minimum because the other team will make the offenders pay for it. I think the safest bet is over the six goals mark however because these teams have such high potent offenses; also, sprinkle the spread money on Chicago +1.5.
