- The Wild are 11-3-0 at home this season
- The Ducks are 4-7-3 on the road this season
- After winning their first meeting, the Ducks are 0-4 against the Wild since January
The Wild have continued their remarkable turnaround of their season by winning three out of their last five games in route to a 19-10-1 record. This has shot them up to third place in the Western Division just six points out of first place with 39 points. Meanwhile, the Ducks could not be further from the spot the Wild find themselves in. They still have yet to really get their seaosn off the ground with just 24 points total on the year leading to a last place standing in their division. Can they somehow generate the magic they had against Minnesota the first time they played? Most likely not but we will see.

Ducks vs Wild Preview
Wild Spurred On By Young Talent
And by young talent I mean 23-year Kirill Kaprizov who has been on a tear this season. The youngster has 25 points on 10 goals and 15 assists which has fit in great to this squad that has otherwise capable goal scorers who sometimes need a spark to get going.
Supplementing this as been their defense that has also come alive as of late. Their goals against average has dropped significantly to just 2.53 a game. And while they still have shown weakness by letting in goals in bunches to the likes of good teams like the Avalanche, they still show great stride in beating teams like the Coyotes. The question is simply when will this team be good enough to take on top talent.
Ducks Looking For Any Positives
As losers of four out of the last five games, the Ducks unfortunately have seen that narrative too many times this season. They are 9-18-6 on the season but they still are hungry of course for their 10th win. The one positive you could say for them is that they do in fact limit opponents shots to just 29 a game, but also the fact that they still give up 3.3 goals a game means the shot stat is meaningless.
This also might be a shot in the dark, but they just barely average a better power play than the Wild as well, two percentage points better. So if they could somehow find ways to score when up a man and on the other end not have to worry about a lethal Wild powerplay, it could turn interesting.
Ducks vs Wild Prediction
Who wins the Ducks vs Wild game tonight:
However, more likely than not, the Wild don’t need power plays to beat the Ducks. They simply have found a spark offensively where the Ducks 2.15 goal per game average has not. More importantly I think the Ducks are a streaky team in terms of losing to where they usually have multiple before a win. They only have two losses in a row so far, so I think they are due for a third before they finally catch a break. Might sound weird, but look at their schedule.
