- Palmetto Championship replaces the Canadian Open this year
There will be a one-off event for fans to look forward to this weekend, as the Palmetto Championship replaces the RBC Canadian Open, which typically takes place. The calendar has needed to be slightly adjusted due to COVID-19, but this promises to be an exciting event.

2021 Palmetto Championship Preview
This will be the first time that the Palmetto Championship will be staged, which means that there are no records or previous winners of the event. That will make it slightly harder to bet on this event this weekend, as there is no previous form to base predictions on.
The event was officially announced at the start of April, as the travel restrictions in place meant that the Canadian Open couldn’t be staged as typically the case. However, the event means that there will be a massive event at Congaree, which was named the Best New Private Golf Course in 2018 by Golf Digest. It will also be ranked 39th in the Greatest Golf Courses by Golf Digest when the list is officially released.
The Palmetto Championship looks a challenging event to predict this weekend, but many of the leading players in the world will be in competition this weekend. It is one of the final events on the road to the US Open. Patrick Cantlay won the Memorial Tournament last weekend, but will not be entering the event this weekend. Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson lead the betting at present. Koepka has enjoyed an excellent return to form over the past couple of months, as he finished second in the PGA Championship, and was the winner of the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Dustin Johnson will be a hard player to rule out, as the Masters winner has already finished in the top ten on four occasions this season.
Tyrrell Hatton is also one of the favorites in the betting, as he searches for a second PGA Tour victory. He has enjoyed some bright moments this season, as he has finished in the top ten on three occasions, including in the Vivint Houston Open and CJ Cup. However, a few of the outsiders could also be worth second consideration due to the location of the event. Some players at a bigger price that may be worth a second look include Ian Poulter, Keith Mitchell and Luke List.

Who will win the Palmetto Championship this weekend:
It is a hard event to call this weekend, as many of the big names will be missing out. Koepka and Johnson have strong claims, but we like the look of an outsider. Ian Poulter could have an excellent chance as he has been in fine form on the greens. A top ten finish could certainly be within the realms of possibility.
