The great Italian derby between Inter Milan and AC Milan is one of the most popular in the world. Two titans of this sport are meeting this Sunday for the last time at Giuseppe Meazza stadium. After this season, the famous venue will be demolished, and in its place, a new one is going to be built. Coming into this one, Inter is desperate to reach a win, which would allow them to stay in the race for the title. On the other side, AC Milan is on the rise, and wants to continue playing well, and possibly reach the Champions League place, which is a bit unlikely, but still possible.
When: Sunday 9th February, 14:45 pm ET
Where: Giuseppe Meazza
Odds: Inter -106 | Draw +240 | AC Milan +310
Over/Under: Over 2.5 goals (+100) | Under 2.5 goals (-125)
- Inter doesn’t have a loss in head to head matches since 2016 – four wins and four draws.
- AC Milan is superb since Ibrahimovic landed to town – seven straight without a loss.
- Six of seven last Inter played saw both teams to score.
Inter’s “Must Win” Situation
The Nerazzurri are the first team in a while able to endanger Juventus’ reign in Italy. And once they had a perfect chance to set a nice position before entering the finish lane, Conte’s team posted several unexpected failures.
Draws against Atalanta, Cagliari, and Lecce, all 1-1, caused them to slip from the first place to second, and are now three points behind Juventus. They need to win every match until the end of the season in order to have the chance of jumping over the Old Lady and capturing the Serie A title.
Six of their past seven events saw both teams to score, and they haven’t been defeated in eight straight matches.
Milan’s Ride on Ibra Euphoria
Everything is different since Zlatan arrived in Milan. The spirit around the club is different, the mood among the fans, simply everything changed. The Swedish international created a momentum that still carries Rosonerri, who really plays well over the past several matches.
They have seven straight without a loss, and in four of them, they haven’t allowed a goal. On the other side, in the same number of events, Stefano Pioli’s guys netted at least twice, and some of those goals occurred in times when Ibra wasn’t on the pitch.
Also, they boosted morale with several successes, which took place after they trailed at certain points of the match.
Alessandro Bastoni and Lautaro Martinez aren’t available for this one, while Samir Handanovic, one of the best goalkeepers in the world, still isn’t sure, same as Borja Valero.
On the other side, Leo Duarte isn’t playing, while Lucas Biglia and Rade Krunic stand as questionable.
From this point of view, we believe that this match isn’t going to see many goals, and that the majority of the action will take place in the second half. Neither Conte or Pioli would like to risk allowing a goal after opening early.
Therefore, two or more goals in the second 45 minutes is our first suggestion here — the odds for this sit at +110.
