Kansas vs Baylor Preview

The Bears have been one of college basketball’s premiere teams in 2020, having not dropped a game all year. They’ve taken down the likes of Illinois, Oklahoma, and TCU, and they’ve got their eyes on a Big XII title.

Kansas, on the other hand, has bounced back after an opening day loss to top ranked Gonzaga, going on to win 10 of their next 12 games, including two victories over top 10 opponents.

Can the Jayhawks add to that list or will Baylor stay unbeaten?

Kansas Looks To Get Back on Track

The Jayhawks dropped their last matchup to Oklahoma State, ending a two-game conference winning streak. They’ll look to get back in the win column versus Baylor, as they try to get back into the Big XII race. Currently, they sit a game and a half back of the Bears.

The Jayhawks are led by their defense, having held three of their past five opponents to 65 points or less. On the year, they average giving up just 67.5 points to their opposition.

On offense, Kansas is paced by leading scorer Ochai Agbaji, who averages just under 15 points per contest. The offense is very balanced, with four of five starters scoring in double figures.

They’ll all hands on deck when facing off against a Baylor defense that gives up just 61 points a game.

Baylor Hopes To Stay Unbeaten

The Bears have won each of their first 11 contests, and look to continue that trend in this matchup of top 10 foes. A win over the Jayhawks would be a great stepping stone towards a Big XII championship.

On the year, the Bears are outscoring their opponents by nearly 30 points per game, scoring 89 on offense, and allowing just 61 to their opposition.

The group is led by guards Jared Butler and MaCio Teague, both of whom average 15 points or more. Davion Mitchell and Adam Flagler also average double figures.

The Bears are deadly from beyond the arc, shooting at a clip of 43%, and the sharpshooting lineup has eclipsed the 80-point mark in eight games this season.

The offense has dropped off a bit in league play, though, with Baylor totaling outputs of 76, 76, and 67 in consecutive matchups with Iowa State, Oklahoma, and West Virginia.

Still, they’ve managed to win all three of those contests by double digits behind fantastic defensive play.

Kansas vs Baylor Prediction

It’s tough to go against the Bears here, especially considering that they’re playing at home. Kansas will certainly be Baylor’s toughest task to date, but we expect the Bears to remain undefeated.
