La Liga News: Real Madrid Wins Against Eibar

By · 1270 days ago

Three games were played today in La Liga championship, with the most significant one taking place in Madrid, and Alfredo di Stefano stadium.

Real Deafeats Eibar

It was 3-1 for the hosts, who were more than ruthless against the guests who were trying to play courageous, but were outclassed in every aspect of the match.

The 13-time European champions were the absolute favorites before the game, and eventually, they proved that in the best possible way.

Zidane’s side scored three goals in the opening 37 minutes, reaching a high lead before the halftime. Tony Kroos opened the show with a fabulous goal after just four minutes of play. It was a beautiful strike from the left side of the box, and the ball just flew above the goalkeeper.

The captain Sergio Ramos was the second scorer with the stopwatch exactly hitting the half an hour mark. After a nice action of the home team, the defender was ruthless. And in the end, Marcelo scored the final goal for Real, while Bigas from Eibar netted just one minute following his first step on the pitch.

Real is now two points away from the first place, and their biggest enemies Barcelona. Behind them are Sevilla, and several other teams who are fighting for the Champions League and who can’t endanger this duo. Among them is Atletico Madrid, who played just 1-1 in Bilbao against Athletic.

Bilbao and Atletico Madrid Sharing One Point Each

In a not so interesting match when talking about goals, the two Atletis shared one point. The game was ended 1-1, with goals coming in the span of two minutes.

First, it was Munain in 37th minute, and just two minutes later, Diego Costa leveled the score. After that, no situations were promising for another goal.

Bilbao is 10th in the standings, with 38 points, five fewer than Valencia, who sits seven, the last position for EL qualifiers. In the meantime, Atletico had 46 points, one fewer than Sociedad, who is fourth.

These two clubs need to start winning as soon as possible; otherwise, their plans for the international future are going to be over pretty soon.

Sociedad and Osasuna Close the Round

Adrian brought the lead to the guests from Pamplona after a penalty. It was the only shot on goal for Osasuna in the entire match, but they were lucky enough to beat hosts’ goalkeeper.

Sociedad controlled the ball almost two/thirds of the time and was trying to be aggressive as much as possible, but they couldn’t level the result. On the other side, Osasuna waited for counter-attacks, and was solely focusing on that.

Oyarzabal equalized in the 61st minute, and he prevented the hosts’ from further slipping in the standings. Sociedad has 47 points, while Osasuna sits at 35. The home team is one point above Atletico Madrid, and Getafe, and three behind Sevilla.

The next round continues already tomorrow, as La Liga doesn’t have any time for wasting. Sevilla goes to Levante, while on the other side, Betis hosts Granada.
