Team News and Game Preview
The Celtics come into this game with three straight losses in a surprising skid for them. After rattling off nine straight wins, Boston has lost to Orlando, Miami, and New York.
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combined for 57 points and 23 rebounds in the loss to the Knicks, and Malcolm Brogdon’s game-tying three was no good at the buzzer as Boston lost another game.
The Lakers have won three of the last four games with the loss coming to the Clippers on Tuesday night. However, they got even better news as Anthony Davis returned against the Spurs and played 26 minutes, scoring 21 points and adding 12 rebounds off the bench.
Rui Hachimura made his Lakers debut with 12 points in 21 minutes, and LeBron James was able to take it easy, scoring only 20 points with 11 assists and nine rebounds.
When these teams faced off in December, Davis and James combined for 70 points in a four-point loss, but Brown and Tatum combined for 69, and Marcus Smart added 18.
Lakers vs Celtics Prediction
Anthony Davis looked terrific in his return, although Lakers fans got a scare when he hobbled up a bit after turning his ankle. However, if he plays on Saturday, the Lakers have a decent chance of getting the win.
LeBron James has been unstoppable all year long, and Hachimura looks like a decent acquisition for LA. On top of that, Boston has lost three in a row, and the Lakers come into Boston and get a gutsy, hard-fought win.
