Manny Pacquiao has just announced he’s joining Paradigm Sports Management, a group that’s been looking after Conor McGregor’s interests for a while now. From now on, the boxing legend is going to be represented by Audie Attar, the Irishman’s right-hand man.
“I am proud to partner with Paradigm Sports Management and am excited for the opportunities that Audie Attar and PSM have to offer.”Said Manny Pacquiao while announcing the decision to team up with Conor McGregor’s manager.
The new manager is going to assist Pacquiao with his business ventures, as well as help him out with competitive endeavors. His decision to sign a contract with Paradigm SM does not mean the boxer is going to say farewell to his existing team of managers.
Arnold Vegafria remains his business manager, with Ping Nepomuceno staying in the role of Pacquiao’s associate. There are also no changes when his legal team is concerned, with Brando Viernesto remaining his attorney.
New Manager Equals New Bouts?
As soon as the news went public, McGregor congratulated Pacquiao on the move via a Twitter post, adding to the narrative that the bout between the two might happen in the near future.
Working as Conor McGregor’s manager, Audie Attar has recently stated that his client is seriously considering giving boxing another attempt. According to Attar, the Notorious is serious about chasing the world title in boxing.
He also confirmed that there is a lot of interest among superstar boxers in having a fight with the UFC legend. McGregor’s previous boxing adventure was somewhat disappointing, considering that the Irish fighter got defeated by Floyd Mayweather by a TKO in 10th round. Still, despite losing the fight, McGregor did bank nearly $100M.
Speaking of money, McGregor has been a sort of golden goose for the promoters, with his bouts getting millions of pay-per-view buys. With so much money in the game, it’s not surprising that everyone would love to face the Irishman in the ring, Pacquiao included.
Pac Man’s decision to hire a new manager has prompted a number of online bookmakers to add the Pacquiao vs McGregor bout in their betting offer.
Pacquiao vs McGregor Betting Odds
Although the rumors about potential Pacquiao vs McGregor bout are increasingly spreading, the deal might not be very easy to broker. There are several obstacles on the way, starting with the fact that Conor McGregor has set his eyes on the UFC Championship belt.
His comeback to the elite MMA promotion last month saw him demolishing Cowboy Cerrone in 40 seconds. The result of the impressive UFC victory is that the public is demanding another McGregor vs Nurmagomedov bout, which would decide the Lightweight champion.
If the title bout is to happen this year, it would mean that McGregor would not have enough time to prepare himself for the boxing duel with Pacquaio, at least not in 2020. And considering that the time is running out for the 41-year-old boxer, the question remains whether we’re going to see the two in the ring at all.
