Major League Baseball and the Major League Players Association met on Wednesday for the third consecutive day in Jupiter, Florida. It looks like the two sides have yet to come to an agreement and an ultimatum was put in place by the MLB.
MLB and the MLBPA have been going back and forth for some time now trying to renegotiate player salaries. They are looking to raise the minimum player salary to $640,000 in 2022 with a $10,000 increase per year moving forward.
They also are far apart on some others issues as well. Those issues are pre-arbitration bonus pools, MLB draft lottery slots, and competitive balance tax thresholds. This could be reason that we may lose games this season and that is the absolute last thing that the players want since they will lose pay in the process.
