- Check out our MLS preview of all three matchups!
After a few days’ break, the 2022 MLS returns on Friday, July 8. There are three games on the program that day, each of which we’ll cover in this betting preview. Apart from analyzing the matchups, we’re also going to share with you our top MLS picks and predictions.
Philadelphia Union vs DC United Vegas Odds
Even though Philadelphia Union is flying high at the moment (second in the East), there still is a reason for concern for Jim Curtin’s men. The thing is that these guys won just one MLS game in the previous five rounds. Luckily for them, they have a fantastic opportunity to add another victory to the list as this Friday, they’re taking on one of the worst teams in the league.
The team in question is DC United, which is sitting just one spot away from the bottom of the Eastern Conference. The guys from the capital are coming off a 5-3 win over Orlando City, but before that, they were winless for six MLS game weeks.
Los Angeles FC vs Los Angeles Galaxy Vegas Odds
It’s time for the third El Trafico of 2022. The first two were won by Galaxy – 2-1 in the MLS and 3-1 in the US Open Cup. Can they get a third win this Friday? Judging by Vegas odds available at top soccer betting sites, the answer is no.
The main reason is that LAFC are stronger than they’ve ever been. This team has recently made two mega-signings, bringing Giorgio Chiellini and Gareth Bale to California. And these two legends are set to make their debut on Friday!
The good news for LAFC doesn’t end there – their most lethal striker Carlos Vela is also ready to return after missing the previous game due to an injury. According to LAFC boss Steve Cherundolo, he didn’t want to risk anything with the Mexican superstar so that he’d be 100% fit for the Los Angeles Derby.
Vancouver Whitecaps vs Minnesota United Vegas Odds
On Saturday evening, the Vancouver Whitecaps defeated favored LAFC 1-0, despite entering the game as +250 underdogs. The win over the Western Conference leaders has certainly given them a major morale boost. The question is whether they can take advantage of it and get themselves another win?
It’s not going to be easy because they’re playing against an in-form team this Friday. Minnesota United is the team we’re talking about, which is coming off back-to-back wins – against Real Salt Lake and Los Angeles Galaxy.
