Event Details & Winners
The Bass Pro Shops Night Race is one of two races that are held at the Bristol Motor Speedway in the NASCAR season. However, this is the only race at the track that is competed during the playoffs. This race has been a part of the NASCAR calendar since 1961, and sees drivers compete over a total distance of 266.5 miles.
A total of 500 laps are completed during the race, with the first two stages both consisting of 125 laps apiece. The final stage sees the final 250 laps completed, with the winner crowned at the conclusion. The most successful driver in the history of this race is Darrell Waltrip, who has won this race on seven previous occasions. Kyle Larson won the race for the first time in his career last year.
The NASCAR standings have altered drastically since the playoffs got underway. Christopher Bell now sits at the top of the standings, as he has finished in the top five in each of the previous two events. His latest showing saw him finish third in the Hollywood Casino 400. That race was won by Bubba Wallace, who has now moved up to 19th in the overall standings.
Going into the playoffs, Chase Elliott was the overall leader. However, he has dropped to seventh after finishing outside the top ten in each of the previous two races. Kyle Larson is the defending champion, but he sits a place further back after finishing eighth in the Hollywood Casino 400 last weekend. Kyle Busch and Kurt Busch could also have excellent chances this weekend, as they have strong records in this race.
Bass Pro Shops Night Race Pick and Prediction
We like the chances of Kevin Harvick this weekend. The driver has won this race on two previous occasions, and he comes into the race this weekend knowing that he needs to deliver a strong bid, as he sits down in 16th in the overall standings.
