NBA: 76ers vs Spurs Prediction, Odds, and Picks (Feb 3)

  • The 76ers hit the road to face the lowly Spurs.
  • This will be the second matchup of the season between the two teams.
  • The Spurs stunned the 76ers when they met in October.

The 76ers finished January with an 11-3 record and started off February with a win over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday. The 76ers are three games back of the Boston Celtics for the top spot in the Eastern Conference and just a half-game behind the Milwaukee Bucks for the 2nd spot.

The Spurs are playing the Victor Wembanyama Sweepstakes and are just 14-38 on the year. January ended with a 2-13 record and then lost their first game of February against the Sacramento Kings. But, somehow, the Spurs beat the 76ers in October in Philly, 114-105.

Game Preview

The 76ers began the season with three straight losses, and one of them came to the Spurs. Joel Embiid had 40 points in that game, but James Harden shot just 4-18 and San Antonio had six players in double figures in a stunning win in Philadelphia.

But, the 76ers are playing really well lately and look like one of the best teams in the entire NBA. Against the Magic, Harden and Embiid combined for 54 points, 20 rebounds, and 13 assists in the victory, and Tobias Harris added 16 points.

The Spurs have won only two games since December 30, and they have no chance of turning this around anytime soon. Keldon Johnson has been a bright spot for San Antonio, and he scored 78 points combined across the past three games.

Rookie Jeremy Sochan has been impressive lately, scoring 30 points against the Suns, although he left early in the loss to Sacramento.

Prediction

The Spurs’ win over the 76ers in October will go down as one of the biggest upsets of the entire NBA season. However, it won’t happen again.

Joel Embiid and James Harden have been too good lately, and even with this game at the AT&T Center, the 76ers walk in and roll over the Spurs in one of the biggest blowouts of the week. Take the 76ers to win and cover the big spread.
