Middleton Making the Difference
We had one similar headline earlier during the playoffs, but we decided to run it back. Why? Because the majority overlooks this guys’ contribution. Yes, he is inconsistent, but what is almost a rule in Milwaukee’s matches is the fact that once Middleton plays badly, the Bucks lose regardless of Giannis’ and everyone else’s productivity.
Game 4 was a clear example of that. It is not about 40 points he scored, but the fact that the ball went to him in the decisive moments. He was the one who was isolated and played a different type of basketball than Giannis. The two-time MVP is pretty one-dimensional in the attack, unlike Middleton, who can score from a distance, or attack the basket, shoot the three.
Also, Jrue Holiday was there to slow down Chris Paul and steal one possession in the end, which turned out to be the essential part of the game. And once Paul isn’t in his rhythm, the whole Suns team is struggling.
Phoenix’s Complaints on Referees
Monty Williams and his boys weren’t happy to see Giannis having more free throws in Game 3 than their entire unit. But they were even more frustrated following Game 4. Devin Booker picked up five fouls early on, and he had to sit out at the start of the fourth period, despite being in the zone and eventually finishing the night with 42 buckets. On the other side, PJ Tucker was physically abusing the Suns’ guard, and yet he somehow held on without fouling out early on.
Also, the Suns are pointing to the fact that Holiday and Giannis had several mistakes that directly affected the match, especially Giannis with an illegal inbound pass. Though their voices weren’t that heard.
Booker was splashing from all over the court in Game 4, breaking Rick Barry’s record for the most points in the first playoff campaign. If he repeats the performance from Fiserv, there is no way for the Bucks to win this time. But that is if he repeats that.
Bucks vs. Suns Head to Head Matches
After starting the series with two wins in a row, 118-105 and 118-108, the Suns suffered two losses in Milwaukee, 120-100 and 109-103.
