Game Preview

The Kings and Pacers engaged in a trade that saw Domantas Sabonis go to Sacramento and Tyrese Haliburton go to Indiana. It’s safe to say that trade has worked out for both sides, and both players will have a lot of emotions facing their former teams.

The Kings won six games in a row in the middle of January but have gone 3-3 since. They won their most recent contest against the San Antonio Spurs by 10 points on Wednesday night.

The two-man show of De’Aaron Fox and Sabonis performed well in the win, combining for 65 points and 14 assists.

The Pacers faced the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night, so Haliburton might end up sitting Friday’s game since he is just returning from an injury. Even if he does play, it will likely be in a limited capacity.

The Pacers’ only win recently came against the Chicago Bulls, and they must be revived to see Haliburton making his way to the court. In his absence, rookie Bennedict Mathurin has been hot and is making a strong case for Rookie of the Year.

Prediction

Domantas Sabonis should be full of emotion making his return to Indiana, and the Pacers fans will likely give him a lot of appreciation. Unfortunately, the home crowd is going to see a rough game for their team.

Haliburton has been sidelined since January 12, and it would be surprising to see him play in both Thursday and Friday’s games. The Fox-Sabonis duo in Sacramento is fun to watch and a massive reason why the Kings are one of the top teams in the Western Conference.

The Kings win this one in a lopsided effort.
