Game Preview
Pittsburgh has begun to heat back up, having now won 4 of their last 5 games. They’re currently projected to narrowly make the NCAA Tournament field as an 11-seed. The Panthers did a great job of maintaining that position with their win over Miami, but still have much work to do. They won’t face another ranked team until March 4, making a win here over North Carolina even more crucial.

North Carolina received 47 votes in the most recent AP poll, but once again fell short of the rankings. They’ve gone 10-2 since Dec 5, after a 5-4 start, looking much more like the Tar Heels team that many people are used to. They are led by Armando Bacot, who averages 18 ppg and 11.5 rpg. Bacot has been dangerous during UNC’s 4-game win streak, averaging close to 20 ppg and 14.5 rpg.
Pittsburgh vs North Carolina Prediction
Both Pittsburgh and North Carolina have been playing very well lately, improving their NCAA Tournament odds with each win. The Panthers narrowly won the first matchup between these two teams a month ago, but had the home-court advantage in that game. This time around, with the match taking place in Chapel Hill, I expect the Tar Heels to emerge victorious, although it should be close.
