Rutgers Scarlet Knights vs Iowa Hawkeyes Odds
Team News and Game Preview
Rutgers was in the top 25 before losing to Michigan State a week ago, so they are close to getting back in and need to beat Iowa on the road to do so. When these teams met three weeks ago, Iowa won by 11, and Rutgers shot 38.1 from the field and just 27.8 percent from beyond the arc.
Rutgers’ leading scorer, Clifford Omoruyi, scored just nine points against Iowa but averages 13.3 PPG and 10.2 rebounds.
Omoruyi dominated against Penn State last time out, scoring 16 points with 10 rebounds in a 20-point victory over the Nittany Lions.
Iowa won four straight before losing the last two games, with one of them being a 16-point loss to Ohio State. Kris Murray is the Hawkeyes’ best player, averaging 20.6 PPG with 8.8 rebounds.
In Iowa’s first meeting with Rutgers, Murray had 17 points and Filip Rebraca scored 16 with 12 rebounds. However, it was Payton Sandfort who exploded with 22 points off the bench, and he then scored 26 against Michigan.
Rutgers vs Iowa Prediction
Rutgers was in the top 25 for a reason, and they should get back soon. Omoruyi is the best player on the floor most nights, although Kris Murray is showing why he is so valuable for Iowa.
The Hawkeyes are tough to beat at home, but Rutgers finds a way to escape with a nail-biting win in a game that could go to overtime.
