NFL Predictions

The Bills outlasted the Lions last Thursday, winning 28-25, and improving to 8-3 on the season. They played a well-contested game against a resurgent Detroit team, ultimately emerging victorious on a game-winning FG as time expired. The game-winner followed a 21-second drive by Josh Allen and the Bills to get into FG range. Allen’s UCL injury seems to be affecting him less and less each week.

New England came up short on Thursday, losing a 33-26 shootout against the Vikings. It was a surprising departure from their typical defensive performances. On offense, QB Mac Jones played very well, completing 28 of 39 passes for 382 yards and 2 TDs. They never turned the ball over, either. On the other hand, their defense was pummeled by Minnesota. They have another tough test here.

NFL Las Vegas Picks:

Bills 27, Patriots 21 (BUF -0.5)

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Atlanta Falcons

NFL Predictions

The Steelers defeated the Colts, 24-17, on Monday night. The win improved them to 4-7 on the year, and marked their second win in the last 3 games. QB Kenny Pickett had another solid game, going 20 for 28 for 174 yards. Pickett has turned the ball over far less as of late, which is something Pittsburgh was hoping to see at some point this season. Their defense could get them another win here.

Atlanta lost to the Commanders on Sunday, dropping to 5-7 on the season. They were unable to stop a late surge by Washington, ultimately turning the ball over on the final drive and sealing their loss. The Falcons are still only a half of a game behind Tampa Bay in the NFC South division, but face more tough sledding this week against a stringent Steelers defense. Another close loss is probable.

NFL Las Vegas Picks:

Steelers 20, Falcons 17 (PIT +3.0)

Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears

Schedule

NFL Predictions

The Packers came up short against the Eagles on Sunday night, losing 40-33, and dropping to 4-8 on the season. Despite playing much better as of late, Green Bay’s playoff chances with 8 losses sit at just 3%. One more loss would reasonably eliminate the Packers, by guaranteeing they finish under .500 on the season. They typically play well against the Bears. This week is a must-win.

Chicago was blown out by the Jets on Sunday, losing 31-10, and dropping to 3-9 on the year. It was the same inferior Bears defense that we’ve seen since the trades of Roquan Smith and Robert Quinn. Unfortunately, QB Justin Fields was unable to play because of a shoulder injury, causing the result of the game to be much more lopsided, with the offense also struggling. This week won’t be easier.

NFL Las Vegas Picks:

Packers 29, Bears 24 (GB -3.0)

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Detroit Lions

Schedule

  • When: Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 1 p.m ET
  • Where: Ford Field, Detroit, MI

Vegas Odds

NFL Predictions

The Jaguars stunned the Ravens on Sunday, coming from behind to win 28-27 in the final seconds of the game. The win was an encouraging one for Jacksonville. They’ve now won 2 of their last 3 games, and improved to 3-3 at home on the year. Their overall record of 4-7 doesn’t provide much of a playoff path, but the Jaguars should be happy with building on any positives for now.

Detroit came up short against the Bills on Thursday, losing 28-25, and dropping to 4-7 on the year. It was another encouraging game for the Lions, despite the loss, as they hung tough with the NFL’s preseason Super Bowl favorites from wire-to-wire. Detroit has been playing like an entirely different team as of late, and can still take advantage of a soft upcoming schedule. That starts this week.

NFL Las Vegas Picks:

Lions 28, Jaguars 25 (DET -1.5)

New York Jets vs Minnesota Vikings

Schedule

  • When: Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 1 p.m ET
  • Where: U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN

NFL Predictions

The Jets blew the Bears out on Sunday, improving to 7-4 on the year. They seem to have made the right choice benching QB Zach Wilson for Mike White, who went 22 for 28 for 315 yards, and 3 TDs in the win, posting a 149.3 passer rating. If White can perform at a high level consistently, the Jets will become dangerous. He needs a tougher test than Chicago’s awful defense, and gets one here.

Minnesota survived a high-scoring game against the Patriots on Sunday, winning 33-26. QB Kirk Cousins proved his doubters wrong, going 30 for 37 for 299 yards, 3 TDs, and an INT, while locking down a primetime victory. WR Justin Jefferson now has 81 catches for 1,232 yards on the season. He’ll likely be matched up with Jets rookie CB Sauce Gardner, a matchup that could determine the game.

NFL Las Vegas Picks:

Vikings 23, Jets 19 (MIN +0.5)

Washington Commanders vs New York Giants

Schedule

  • When: Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 1 p.m ET

NFL Predictions

Washington took down the Falcons, 19-13, improving to 7-5 on the season. They’re now 6-1 in their last 7 games, after starting the season 1-4. The Commanders have been scorching hot, led by their defense, which has improved each week. This week’s matchup against the Giants could determine which of these two teams makes the postseason. Washington’s defense should thrive again.

The Giants lost 28-20 against the Cowboys on Thursday. A last second score by New York made the final score look closer than the game actually was. The Giants were thoroughly beaten by Dallas, continuing to deal with several key injuries. The Giants have now lost 3 of their last 4 games. A loss this week against Washington could send them spiraling, and it seems pretty likely to happen.

NFL Las Vegas Picks:

Commanders 26, Giants 23 (WAS -2.5)

Tennessee Titans vs Philadelphia Eagles

Schedule

  • When: Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 1 p.m ET

Vegas Odds

NFL Predictions

Tennessee was unable to defeat the Bengals on Sunday, losing 20-16 at home, and dropping to 7-4 on the year. It was a close game from start to finish, with each defense carrying the bulk of the weight. RB Derrick Henry has looked vulnerable against some tougher defenses. He averaged just 2.2 yards per carry on Sunday, rushing 17 times for 38 yards. They need Henry at his best to win games.

The Eagles took down the Packers on Sunday night, improving to 10-1 on the year. They still hold the NFL’s best record, and took one step closer to claiming the NFC’s top overall seed and subsequent first-round bye. Philadelphia can clinch a playoff spot with a win this week against the Titans. Despite regressing over the last few weeks, I still see the Eagles coming out on top here, in a close one.

NFL Las Vegas Picks:

Eagles 28, Titans 27 (PHI +0.5)

Denver Broncos vs Baltimore Ravens

Schedule

  • When: Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 1 p.m ET
  • Where: M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, MD
  • How to Watch: CBS

Vegas Odds

NFL Predictions

The Broncos lost badly against the Panthers on Sunday, falling 23-10. They now sit at 3-8 on the season, with their playoff chances at less than 0.1%. It has been another disappointing season in Denver, but the damage done cannot be understated. They traded away two 1st-round picks and two 2nd-round picks for a struggling Wilson, and then paid him $245 million. Things will keep getting worse.

Baltimore was stunned on Sunday by Jacksonville, losing a game they controlled for the majority of the 4th quarter. The Ravens need to avoid another upset loss this week. Last season, a surprise loss at 8-3 that dropped them to 8-4 spurred a 6-game losing streak. They finished the season 8-9 and missed the playoffs. Baltimore needs to win this week to avoid more déjà vu, which they should.

NFL Las Vegas Picks:

Ravens 26, Broncos 16 (BAL -6.0)

Cleveland Browns vs Houston Texans

Schedule

  • When: Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 1 p.m ET
  • Where: NRG Stadium, Houston, TX
  • How to Watch: CBS

Vegas Odds

NFL Predictions

The Browns got a massively important win on Sunday, holding off the Buccaneers to win in overtime. The victory improved them to 4-7 on the season, salvaging their slim hopes of making a playoff push following the return of QB Deshaun Watson. In a competitive AFC, Cleveland would likely need to win out, and get to 10-7 to have a shot. Watson’s first test is against his former team, in Houston.

Houston was dominated by Miami on Sunday, losing 30-15. They trailed 30-0 in the 1st half, before the Dolphins pulled their starters and allowed the Texans to score a couple of garbage time TDs. Houston may be the worst team in the NFL right now, but I see them getting a win this week. We’ve seen revenge games fail twice already this season, with Wilson vs Seattle and Mayfield vs Cleveland.

NFL Las Vegas Picks:

Texans 21, Browns 20 (HOU +7.5)

Seattle Seahawks vs Los Angeles Rams

Schedule

  • When: Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 4:05 p.m ET
  • Where: SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, CA
  • How to Watch: FOX

Vegas Odds

NFL Predictions

Seattle lost an overtime thriller against the Raiders on Sunday, dropping to 6-5 on the season. It was the second straight loss for the Seahawks, who relinquished their lead in the NFC West division to the now 7-4 49ers. Seattle still has an NFC playoff spot as of now, but needs to get back to their winning ways to avoid a collapse. The attenuated Rams offer a great opportunity to do so this week.

The Rams lost 26-10 against the Chiefs on Sunday, falling to 3-8 on the season. Without QB Matthew Stafford or WR Cooper Kupp, their offense was completely unable to produce. Los Angeles got more bad news on Sunday, losing WR Allen Robinson to a foot injury that will require surgery. Things just keep getting worse for the Rams, who may very well lose every game left this season.

NFL Las Vegas Picks:

Seahawks 27, Rams 13 (SEA -6.5)

Miami Dolphins vs San Francisco 49ers

Schedule

  • When: Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 4:05 p.m ET

  • How to Watch: FOX

Vegas Odds

NFL Predictions

Miami pummeled the Texans on Sunday, jumping out to a 30-0 lead in the first half, and improving to 8-3 on the season. They’re now 8-0 in games where starting QB Tua Tagovailoa was available, and continue to fly under the radar as a potential Super Bowl contender. They have the perfect matchup to prove themselves this week, traveling across the country to take on the red-hot 49ers.

The 49ers got a dominant win of their own last week, shutting out the Saints 13-0. San Francisco has now won 4 consecutive games, improving to 7-4 on the year. In that 4-game span, they outscored the opposition 104-40, winning each game by an average score of 26-10. They’ll get their toughest test in a while this week against the Dolphins. This should be a very close and competitive game.

NFL Las Vegas Picks:

Dolphins 27, 49ers 26 (MIA +5.5)

Kansas City Chiefs vs Cincinnati Bengals

Schedule

  • When: Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 4:25 p.m ET
  • Where: Paycor Stadium, Cincinnati, OH
  • How to Watch: CBS

Vegas Odds

NFL Predictions

The Chiefs defeated the Rams 26-10 last week, improving to 9-2 on the season. They remain as the AFC’s #1 seed, with a 99% chance of making the postseason. Kansas City has won 5 games in a row, but gets their toughest test this week since their loss to Buffalo in Week 6. They’ll take on an equally hot Bengals team. The Chiefs would benefit from the return of one or two of their injured WRs.

Cincinnati took down the Titans in Tennessee, winning 20-16, and improving to 7-4 on the year. They’ve now won 3 straight games, and 5 of their last 6. The Bengals are hoping to get star WR JaMarr Chase back from injury for this game against the Chiefs. His return could be the deciding factor in this game. This should be an instant classic, and I like the Bengals to squeeze by with a victory.

NFL Las Vegas Picks:

Bengals 31, Chiefs 30 (CIN +3.0)

Los Angeles Chargers vs Las Vegas Raiders

Schedule

  • When: Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 4:25 p.m ET
  • Where: Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, NV
  • How to Watch: CBS

Vegas Odds

NFL Predictions

Los Angeles crept by the Cardinals in a 25-24 victory on Sunday, improving to 6-5 on the year. It was a massive victory for the Chargers, whose playoff chances currently sit at 39%. Had they lost to Arizona, their chances would have fallen below 15%. Los Angeles needs to build on that momentum in another tough road matchup this week. They took down Las Vegas at home in Week 1.

The Raiders overcame the Seahawks in overtime, winning 40-34. They salvaged their dwindling playoff hopes with the win, attempting to build a winning streak that ends with them making the playoffs at 10-7, just as they did around this time last season. One more loss would be fatal to those hopes, and they’ll have to avoid taking that loss to a dangerous Chargers team that already beat them.

NFL Las Vegas Picks:

Chargers 27, Raiders 24 (LAC +2.5)

Indianapolis Colts vs Dallas Cowboys

Schedule

  • When: Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 8:20 p.m ET
  • Where: AT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX
  • How to Watch: NBC

Vegas Odds

NFL Predictions

The Colts lost to the Steelers on Monday night, dropping to 4-7-1 on the season. Their playoff chances have dropped to just 2%, as they continue to underperform. Indianapolis played relatively well on Monday, and led for much of the 2nd half, before ultimately allowing Pittsburgh to take the lead and win the game. They’ll have a tough task getting back on track against the red-hot Cowboys.

Dallas handled business against the Giants on Thursday, winning easily and improving to 8-3 on the season. They’ve now won 4 of their last 5 games. The Cowboys are 5-1 at home, with their lone loss coming in Week 1, during Dak Prescott’s injury. They should have no issues winning again at home this week against the inconsistent Colts, with the teams behind them keeping up the heat.

NFL Las Vegas Picks:

Cowboys 28, Colts 16 (DAL -6.5)

New Orleans Saints vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Schedule

  • When: Monday, December 5, 2022, at 8:15 p.m ET
  • Where: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, FL
  • How to Watch: ESPN

Vegas Odds

NFL Predictions

The Saints were blanked by the 49ers on Sunday. The 13-0 loss was not a good look for New Orleans, who dropped to 4-8. QB Andy Dalton had an okay game, going 18 for 29 for 204 yards and no scores. Dalton’s inconsistency may cause the Saints to make a change at QB sooner rather than later. They still sit just 1.5 games out of first place behind the Buccaneers in the NFC South division.

Tampa Bay was unable to defeat the Browns in overtime, losing 23-17, and falling to 5-6 on the season. Fortunately, they remain in 1st place in an awful NFC South. This week’s game against New Orleans provides both the opportunity to increase that lead, as well as the risk of it getting even smaller. Tampa Bay’s defense is their greatest asset. They should come up big here against the Saints.

NFL Las Vegas Picks:

Buccaneers 19, Saints 17 (NO +3.5)
