Game Preview
The 49ers struggled for large parts of the game in their 12-19 win over Dallas on Sunday but showed their character and class in getting over the line. Rookie quarterback Brock Purdy was finally held in check by an opposition defense but showed maturity and composure throughout. The 49ersā defense stepped up on the other side of the field however and came away with two crucial interceptions when the team needed a boost. The Cowboys had good field position for their final drive of the game but wasted the opportunity to tie it up thanks to some poor play calls and an inexcusable incompletion by Dalton Shultz with seconds remaining. San Fransicoās running back pair of Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell are both day-to-day with calf and groin injuries respectively, but both are expected to be fit for Sundayās encounter.

The Eagles were far too good for the Giants, on both sides of the field, on Sunday and ran out 7-38 winners in a one-sided affair. Running back Kenneth Gainwell was the star of the show on offense, picking up 112 yards and 1 touchdown from just 12 carries. The entire Philadelphia defense was outstanding, coming away with 5 sacks, 1 interception, and 1 forced fumble whilst only allowing the opposition 227 total yards. This matchup was never in the balance and at times felt like an exhibition, something which may serve Philadelphia well heading into the Conference Championship game.

This matchup has all the making of an instant classic, two teams with great offenses and top defenses going head-to-head. All eyes will be on how 49ers QB Brock Purdy handles the pressure. It feels like this matchup will come down to one big play on defense from either side though. Iāve had the Eagles as my Superbowl champions from the start of the season and I canāt change that now, no matter how much I like this 49ers team.
