NFL Schedule release: Green Bay Packers 2021 Schedule

Hats off to Aaron Rodgers, as he certainly knows how to time his public expression of discontent to cause the maximum carnage.

The most interesting thing about this situation is that everybody does appear to be on Rodgers’ side just now, and it’s understandable that he’s not feeling fully supported by the GM.

They went down narrowly to Tampa Bay in the playoffs last year and a first round talent at CB or on the offense could have made all the difference, yet they decided to go for Rodgers’ replacement who isn’t going to see the field for a while.

Green Bay’s season 100% depends on Rodgers staying as Love is unlikely to match him for quality if he does move on, while any draft picks they get won’t be useful until the season is over.

There is a feeling that this may work itself out but it’s also worth remembering that Rodgers’ contract is structured in a way that makes more sense to part with him after June, so this one is going to run and run.

If he stays then a run at the Super Bowl will be expected, if he doesn’t then it’s likely that others will also want out and it could become a farce:

If Rodgers does go then that’s a brutal start for Jordan Love or whoever would take over, with a lot of away games to being with and some tough matchups in there too.

It shows exactly why they need to keep their QB around, but this will be anxious few weeks for the fans.
