NFL Schedule release: Kansas City Chiefs 2021 Schedule

It’s likely that we would be looking at back-to-back Super Bowl champions if Patrick Mahomes was given some protection against Tampa Bay in February, and it’s clear that the Chiefs don’t want to see a repeat of that.

Joe Thuney arrives as the big-ticket free agent signing from New England so he solidifies that O-line, while the trade for Orlando Brown and the return of Laurent Duvernay-Tardif should make the QB feel much more comfortable.

Trading for Brown ensured they didn’t pick in the first round but they further addressed the O-line in round 2 along side the linebacker position, although they may need some of the receivers to step up.

Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce will wreak havoc as usual so that should open space for the others, but Damien Williams and Sammy Watkins were a reliable part of the offense so their loss may be felt.

The defense is largely intact and they should be good for another title push if their stars all stay fit, while they can be confident that Mahomes won’t be running for his life this season either:

The Chiefs have no real reason to fear anyone and the bolstered O-line will embolden them further, but that is a tough opening three fixtures so could they be 1-2 or worse going into week four?

It’s unlikely but it would blow this division wide open, while a strong start will only enhance their standing as Super Bowl favourites:
