OKC and Clippers Make Unreal Comebacks

Two big comebacks were seen tonight, as OKC and LA Clippers managed to win their respective games, despite being 25+ points behind. And they had super-strong opponents against them on the road. Jazz blew out the Spurs who are in crisis, while the leading duo in the East had a mixed night, Raptors won, Milwaukee lost.

Westbrook Writes History, George Leads the Team

OKC was 26 points behind Houston. Yet, Westbrook, George, and others clawed their back and won in a dramatic ending, 117-112. The fans at the Toyota Center couldn’t believe what hit them. James Harden took the responsibility in the decisive moments, and missed two three-pointers, while on the other side, George with 6 and Westbrook with 3 points closed the game. Westbrook tied the NBA record for most triple-doubles in a row. With 21 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists he posted his 9th consecutive, tying with Wilt Chamberlain. George was in charge of scoring points last night. PG dropped 45 with 11 boards.

Harden had 42 points, Chris Paul was one assist shy of reaching his triple-double, 18 points 10 rebounds and 9 assists.

Franchise Record for the Clippers

The LA Clippers came back after even bigger deficit, -28! It is the franchise record, and the decisive part of the game was the third quarter which ended with 28-12 in favor of the guests. Though, Celtics were left without Kyrie Irving who came out because of a knee injury. Still, that doesn’t justify the fact that his team lost this match. The final result was 123-112 for the LA boys. Danilo Gallinari had a double-double with 19 points and 10 boards, while Montrezl Harrell posted a team-high with 21 buckets. Newcomer Landry Shamet delivered 17 and he will be a huge help for his team.

Gordon Hayward scored 19 for the Celts, Tatum and Rozier 16 each.

Spurs in Crisis

The San Antonio Spurs lost their fourth game in a row, this time against the Jazzers, 125-105. What cost them the game in Salt Lake was a terrible defense, especially in the second and third quarter when they allowed 78 points combined. Gregg Popovich has to do something stop this downfall of his team, which could possibly lead to missing the playoffs. Now that would be a disaster for the franchise from Texas.

Donovan Mitchell had 23 points, Rudy Gobert another double-double, 21 and 13 rebounds, while Royce O’Neal had a perfect record for three, 4/4 for 17 points.

DeRozan was the best among the guests, 23 points.

Raptors inflicted the 16th loss in a row to the Knicks 104-99, who are looking very bad. Marc Gasol made his debut for the Canadians, with 7 points and 6 assists. The best player in their squad was Kyle Lowry with 22 points, while Ibaka had 15 with 13 rebounds.

Kevin Knox continued his good performances, notching 20 points.

Meanwhile, Bucks got smashed at home, against Orlando, 103-83. They were without Giannis, but still, such a bad performance isn’t a direct consequence of his absence. It was one of their worst matches this season. Because of that, Toronto got closer to just one game. Jonathan Isaac had 17 points, Nikola Vucevic 15 and 17 boards, while Terrence Ross had the same number of points.

Eric Bledsoe posted a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds with the Bucks.

In other games, Grizzlies defeated Pelicans 99-90, Pacers did the same thing to Cleveland, 105-90, while Hornets grabbed a road win against Atlanta, 129-120.
