Game Preview
Penn State came very close to winning the Big-10 title game, but came up just short. They now enter the tourney 8-2 over their last 10 games, continuing to be red-hot. Unfortunately, the committee put the Nittany Lions in a tough spot, seeding them at #10, and forcing them into a matchup with a Texas A&M team that should have been seeded much higher. They’ll fight to overcome the committee.

Texas A&M was also given poor positioning by the committee, being seeded at #7, while deserving a 4 or 5 seed. Instead of facing a 12 or 13 seed in the first round, and a 4/5 seed in the second round, they’ll take on red-hot Penn State and then presumably #2 Texas if they win. The Aggies have won 10 of their last 12 games and won’t go down easy, despite the very dangerous path they were given.
Picks
This game features two very underrated teams that ended the season red-hot. Either one has a chance of winning this game, but I was more impressed with Penn State’s performance in their conference final than Texas A&M’s. Going off of that and the danger that Jalen Pickett creates with his versatility, I see the Nittany Lions coming away with a big upset here, and keeping their hot streak alive.
