2023 PFL Challenger Series Week 3 Predictions
Ras Hylton vs Danilo Marques
Two 6’6 giants lock horns in the main event of the PFL Challenger Series Week 3. Ras Hylton is a 34-year-old fighter with a 9-6 record in his professional career, which saw him fight in Bellator MMA for a couple of months in 2020. This Friday, he’s taking on Danilo Marques (12-4), who’s got some UFC experience.
Marques has a much better portfolio than Hylton, having fought (and won) against some real elite fighters. As you can see in the video below, our resident PFL expert believes Marques’s experience could be the crucial factor in Friday’s fight.
However, all the professional MMA fights Marques has fought in his career, the 37-year-old Brazilian fought in the heavyweight division. In fact, the Hylton vs Marques fight on Friday is going to be his divisional debut.
Knowing this, it’s kind of strange that bookies see him as a -425 favorite. Sure, he’s got a better pedigree, but we wouldn’t be surprised if Hylton pulled off an upset. This guy has the nuclear option in his fists, the proof being that each of his previous three wins happened by KO/TKO. Add to this the fact that he’s priced at +325, and you’ll understand why we love this bet.
PFL Challenger Series Predictions:
Isaiah Pinson vs Vitor Resende
Fighter | Vegas Odds |
---|---|
Isaiah Pinson | TBA |
Vitor Resende | TBA |
When the 2023 PFL Challenger Series Week 3 matchups were announced, Vitor Resende (4-0) was supposed to fight Greg Velasco (5-0). Early odds saw Resende as a major underdog, but when Velasco pulled out of the event, things changed for the Brazilian fighter.

Vitao is now expected to have a field day against Isaiah Pinson (1-0) who stepped in as Velasco’s replacement. Oddsmakers think so, and we can only agree. We think he’s going to get another win inside the distance, the same as his previous four.
PFL Challenger Series Predictions:
Hassan Graham vs Abraham Bably
Neither fighter has too much experience fighting professionally. For Hassan Graham, this is going to be only his second pro-fight. The first one saw him defeat another debutant, Jorge Vega by TKO in the first minute. Before going pro, the Englishman fought four amateur fights, winning each of them.
Abraham Bably’s story is similar. He too started out as an amateur mixed martial artist, winning four bouts before going pro. His professional debut happened in 2021 when he defeated Jan Lysak by TKO in Round 1. Although a win is a win, he didn’t fight too tough an opponent on his debut – Lysak was 2-18 before that fight.
Bably did, however, take on a much better opponent in his second professional bout. It was August 2022 when he locked horns with Louie Sutherland who was 4-0 before that fight. The bout was a part of the PFL 9 Playoffs, and we saw Bably win by a unanimous decision. We think he’s likely to do something similar this Friday as well.
PFL Challenger Series Predictions:
Louie Sutherland vs Alton Meeks
After defeating four fighters with a not-so-great record, Louie Sutherland got an opportunity to fight under the PFL banner. He made his debut in August but lost to Abraham Bably. This Friday, he’ll get another chance, this time against Alton Meeks.
Meeks is 4-1 in his pro career, with his only loss happening against Yorgan De Castro in the 2019 Contender Series. He then went on a two-year hiatus before making his comeback last July. His comeback went as planned he defeated Marquell Fulwood-Jones by KO/TKO in Round 2. We think he’s going to do something similar on Friday.
