Event Details
The Houston Open has been competed annually since 1946. Players will compete across 7,432 yards in this stroke play event, which boasts a prize fund of $8.4 million. Jason Kokrak won the event last year, while Vijay Singh holds the record for the best par score. Singh also jointly holds the record for the best aggregate score of 266, along with Curtin Strange and Lee Trevino.
Scottie Scheffler is a very strong favorite in the betting to win the event this weekend. The 26-year-old finished in a tie for third at the WWT Championship last weekend, and also made the cut at The CJ Cup on his return to action on the PGA Tour in October. Scheffler has previous experience at this event, as he finished second at the Houston Open last year.

Russell Henley could be a good value play this weekend, as he won the WWT Championship last time out. He finished four shots clear to win that event and held his calm to finish one under in the final round. Tony Finau is still an incredibly consistent player on the PGA Tour, and shouldnβt be underestimated despite failing to make the cut last weekend.
Joel Dahmen could be an interesting selection at a massive price this weekend. He has started the new season in fine fashion, having finished in the top 20 on each of his previous four starts. He also performed well at the Houston Open last year, finishing in a tie for fifth.
Houston Open Predictions
If he is playing at the top of his game, then it looks hard to see past Scheffler claiming victory this weekend. However, given that we like picking out value plays, an each-way chance is also taken on the consistent Joel Dahmen.
