The English Premiership made the initial step towards resuming this season this Monday. They voted for returning to training in the next 24 hours.
Small Groups in Training Sessions Allowed
The Board of Shareholders unanimously voted for small group training, which is the first serious step towards returning to normal and the continuation of the championship.
“Premier League Shareholders today voted unanimously to return to small group training from tomorrow afternoon — the first step towards restarting the Premier League, when safe to do so,” stated in the Premiership’s statement released this afternoon English time.
There would be some rules in the beginning, and the following of the same is mandatory.
- The maximum number of players in one group is five. The contacts between them are ruled out, and there won’t be sliding tackles. Every player and member of the organization which participates in the process of training will be tested for COVID-19.
- Also, the temperature of all the persons who are attending the training will be measured before the start of the same. Sessions are going to last for 75 minutes, and the players will have to be at least seven feet distanced between one another.
- The players are required to take their equipment home, apart from the boots. All the items they have will be disinfected before and after the training.
- The same applies to all the corner-flags, cones, balls, goalposts and the entire surface, and that needs to be done after each session.
During the meeting, there was no discussion considering the dates for resuming the league. According to all the present, it is too early for such a decision, and first, all the clubs have to agree on how to continue the competition and implement all the health measures along the way.
Even though there were some speculations that June 12 could be that date, nothing is confirmed, and according to all the predictions, that date will be pushed back for a few days. Everything in order to keep everyone involved safe.
Liverpool is topping the table, and there are minimal chances to see them dropping the first place in the remaining nine rounds. However, what will provide excitement is the battle for the Champions League positions, where six teams participate.
Scottish Premier League Concluded – Celtic Champions
Opposite to the English Premier League, the Scottish national championship was closed today, with Celtic being validated as the champion. It is the ninth season in a row in which the Bhoys won the title, although they had some struggles throughout the campaign.
The decision was brought today, with all 12 participants already agreeing that there are no conditions for resuming the competition. Eventually, the average number of points per game decided the standings.
Celtic had 13 points more than the Rangers, and a game in hand, do basically, they would have probably won this anyway.
On the other side, the famous Hearts were relegated to the second tier, as they sat in the last place in the moment of the hiatus. Not so long ago, this club was representing Scotland in international competitions.
