Game Preview
Southampton was dominant in possession but toothless in attack in their 0-2 loss to Brentford on Wednesday. Ivan Toney and Yoane Wissa got the goals for the Bees and Southampton only managed one shot on target in reply. Manager Ruben Selles will look for the positives but in truth, it is a lack of quality inside both boxes that will cost Southampton this season.

Tottenham cruised to victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday, with Harry Kane scoring twice and Son once in their 3-1 win. Liverpool’s defeat earlier in the day meant that Spurs ended the day six points clear of Jurgen Klopp’s team. There has been much speculation over Antonio Conte’s future following Tottenham’s Champions League exit but positive results in the league will do wonders to keep the supporters on his side.
Prediction
If you’d asked me to predict the outcome of this match a few weeks ago then I’d have said that Spurs’ form made all results possible. Their form hasn’t improved dramatically but Southampton is a team in trouble and it seems unlikely that anything other than a Tottenham win is on the cards.
