Real Madrid vs Chelsea Vegas Odds – Can the Champs Fight Back?

  • Real Madrid beat Chelsea 3-1 in London last week
  • The second leg is taking place in the Spanish capital
  • Vegas odds suggest it’s likely Real will get to the UCL semifinal

Chelsea is the reigning champion of the UEFA Champions League, but as things currently stand, we’re not going to see the Blues defend their title. Instead, their UCL journey is likely to end this Tuesday.

Of course, you can be sure that Thomas Tuchel and his players aren’t going to give up. As long as there is hope, these guys will fight. Still, their task is very hard – they need to beat Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu by three or more goals.

Oddsmakers don’t think they’re going to pull it off. In fact, they believe Real Madrid is more likely to win Tuesday’s quarterfinal game.

Game Preview

Los Blancos Going to Semis?

Carlo Ancelotti’s team only needs not to lose by more than a goal and they will qualify for the semifinals of the 2021-22 Champions League. It’s because a week ago, they demolished Chelsea 3-1 in London. I say “they” although the demolition job was done by one man – Karim Benzema.

The 34-year-old Frenchman scored three goals that day, which was his second straight hat-trick in a row in the Champions League. Before that, he did the same against PSG three weeks ago.

In-between those two hat-tricks, he scored another four goals in two games in Spanish La Liga, which is where Real is almost certainly going to win the title.

Chelsea Need a Wonder

The team that won the UCL last year is very close to getting knocked out of the competition. To get to the semis, the blues would need to win by at least three goals, while a win by two goals would take the game to the extra time.

The trouble is that these guys haven’t been great scoring-wise over the last couple of weeks. They scored only once against Real, while before that, we saw them lose 4-1 against Brentford in the Premier League.

Real Madrid vs Chelsea Prediction

Los Blancos are getting to the Champions League semifinal, there’s no doubt about that. The only question is whether they’ll get there by beating Chelsea, playing a draw, or losing by just one point?

Anything can happen in this game, so maybe it’s better to focus on goals. We shouldn’t see too many of them on Tuesday, which is why betting on under 2.5 seems like the right option.
