Red Bull Leipzig vs. Borussia Dortmund Prediction, Odds, Picks
RB Leipzig vs. Borussia Dortmund Preview
Many hoped to see this match solving the German Bundesliga champion. Yet that didn’t happen, and the two sides will battle for the second place instead of the trophy. At one point of the season, the Bulls and the Millionaires were ahead Bayern, but like so many times before, the team from Munich uses unreal slips of its opponents and takes the title. Still, this will be an interesting match to see because Red Bull still isn’t safe for the Champions League.
RB Leipzig vs. Borussia Dortmund Odds

Red Bull Cementing the UCL Spot
The hosts have four points more than the fifth-placed Monchengladbach and they need to win at least once more in these two rounds in order to be theoretically safe as the Champions League passengers. After this event, they have a road-trip to Augsburg, but they aren’t going to risk anything and place themselves in a tough position in the last round.
Timo Werner signed with Chelsea yesterday, and the pacey forward will play for the last time at the Red Bull Arena. He won’t participate in the UCL quarterfinals but moves to England right after the match against Chelsea.
Hosts haven’t lost in 14 straight matches, but they had numerous draws during that time, which is why they wasted chances to win the title. In 12 Bundesliga games RB played, we saw five wins and seven draws.
Several of their players are injured – Hartmann, Pulsen and Wolf, while Ampadu sits questionable.
Borussia Without Any Pressure
The Millionaires are now playing just to end the campaign. They don’t have any competitive motives after losing the title, and securing the UCL place for the upcoming campaign. It is a pity for them, for not using Bayern’s situation, and capturing this championship.
Yet, that is Borussia’s destiny over the recent few years, always close, but never first.
Lucien Favre’s team lost 0-2 at home to Mainz last week, which was only their second defeat since the restart. The first one was also at home, and that one was against Bayern, who crushed the Millionaire’s title dreams.
Borussia is crippled with injuries, with Manuel Akanji, Dahoud, Delaney, and Zagadou definitely not playing, and on the other side, Gotze, Reus, and Reyna are doubtful.
Head to Head Matches
The first match this year brought fireworks, ending with six scores and without a winner. It was 3-3 at Signal Iduna, with Borussia dropping a two-goal advantage.
Weigl, Brandt, and Sancho were the scorers for the hosts, while Werner netted twice for RB and Shick once.
Prediction
We believe that hosts have many more motives to play and that they have fewer troubles regarding injuries than the guests from Dortmund. Once combining these two factors, it is logical to bet on them to win this derby. The moneyline on their win is at +125, and from our point of view, it is the pick of the day. All of you who love betting on goals, be aware that three H2H games played here ended under 2.5 goals.
