SUPER BOWL LIII
Rams vs. Patriots
Moneyline: LA +115, NE -115
Spread: NE -2.5
After losing in the opening round of the postseason a year ago, the Rams went all the way to the big dance this year, and we will not be talking about the refs in this segment. A win is a win. CJ Anderson has proved to be a vital addition to this offense.
New England is no stranger to the Super Bowl, now playing in their third in a row and fourth in the past five years. We’ll see if they can avenge their loss to Philly with a win against McVay’s team.
So they were able to get past the Saints, in large part thanks to having such an impressive kicker on their team in Greg Zuerlein. He nailed a game-tying kick from 48 yards, and then after Drew Brees got picked, he hit again from 57. To see a performance like this from a kicker in the playoffs is absolutely wild. Justin Tucker of the Ravens hit a game-winning OT 49-yarder as a rookie, something that matches it. Anyway, the LA defense did a tremendous job against the Saints, and that is the biggest reason they are here. Two straight red zone drives opened the game for New Orleans, and both times they were held to field goals.
Todd Gurley should have a larger role for the big game, unlike last week,= where he didn’t get it much at all. Brandin Cooks had a sensational game, while Jared Goff played terrific football in the second half of the game. They sacked Brees multiple times in the second half and overcame the crowd noise. This team is built to win.
After overcoming the Chiefs crazy second-half attack, they drove down in overtime, converting on 3rd and long THREE times in a row, and ended up with a touchdown on the drive. That was that. They knocked Andy Reid out of the playoffs yet again and punched their ticket to a third Super Bowl in as many years. Brady got picked twice early in the game but had 348 yards and a TD for the day. Julian Edelman caught every pass thrown his way, while Sony Michel went for over 100 yards— quite the day for the rookie.
The Pats sacked Mahomes four times, which was huge considering that they usually don’t generate too much pressure. Kyle Van Noy had a pair of sacks, while Trey Flowers also had one. There are various playmakers on their defense, and they all came to play.
Rams win Super Bowl LIII!
Be sure to bet LA +2.5 and over 57.5. The Rams are going to get the win and bring the Super Bowl to Los Angeles. They have only been here for a few years, but they are already winning it all. The Pats will lose for the second year in a row, and likely keep Brady around for at least a few more years.
Free Pick: Rams
