The Memorial Preview

There have been so notable names that have achieved success in this event over its history. Tiger Woods has won the event on five occasions, with the most recent of those successes coming back in 2012. Americans have been dominant in The Memorial over the past ten years, as seven of the ten winners have been players from the United States.

Two players that feature at the top end of the market have both achieved victories in this tournament in recent years, with DeChambeau winning the event in 2018 in a tense playoff, while Patrick Cantlay won the event last year by two strokes from Adam Scott. Course experience could be pivotal in deciding the winner of this event, which means that their victories could be potentially telling.

DeChambeau certainly enjoys this course and will be looking to add to his eight professional wins. He is currently ranked at fifth in the world, which is the joint-highest that he has been in his career. He has won six PGA Tour events in the past, and shouldn’t be ruled out.

Megastars such as Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy will also get a lot of attention. This will be the first that fans have seen of Woods this season, which would indicate why he is at such a high price. McIlroy has never shown his best golf around this course, and has never finished in the top two. However, it’s difficult to rule him out due to the form that he showed at the backend of last season.

There could also be value elsewhere in the market, with Colin Morikawa coming into the competition following success at the Workday Charity Open. He will have much shorter odds this weekend, but could prove a good each-way selection. But, our pick is a much stronger each-way selection.

The Memorial 2020 Pick

Xander Schauffele is our pick to produce a stunning performance at The Memorial 2020. Schauffele has been a consistent player on the PGA Tour, and he has finished in the top ten on four occasions over the course of the past seven major events. Meanwhile, he has also finished in the top ten on four occasions over the past year on the PGA. He could be a lucrative selection for gamblers as he is priced at a huge +2500 with
