Did ya miss us last week? Well, now we’re back and talking about the UFC again. UFC 228 is approaching, and we’ll have a few match previews for you. Read below.

Tyron Woodley (-141) vs. Darren till (+119)

The 36-year-old Woodley has had a career to write home about, with an 18-3-1 record. He has gone undefeated in his last eight fights (7-0-1) since losing to Rory MacDonald on June 14, 2014. It’s been an impressive run for him, as he looks to improve more. He’s landed 44% of his strikes, and is five for eight on takedown tries.

His opponent is the much younger, 25-year-old Darren Till. He has not lost a fight before, going 17-0-1 in the ring. His one draw came against Nicolas Darby on October 24, 2015, and he has gone 4-0 since. He has landed 46% of his strikes and if three out of nine on takedown tries.

PICK: Tyron Woodley. He’s a little older, but he’s a more aggressive fighter and can get his opponent on the ground a bit faster.

Jimmie Rivera (-189) vs. John Dodson (+151)

The 29-year-old Rivera, from Ramsey, NJ, has gone 21-2 in his fighting career and been a tough out. However, one of those two losses came in his last bout, against Marlon Moraes on June 1st. He has landed 41% of his strikes, but is just five for 15 on grappling opportunities. He has landed 90% of his standing strikes, something which really helps him stand out.

He’ll be facing the 33-year-old, John “The Magician” Dodson. Dodson has gone 21-9 in his career, with a wealth of experience. He is coming off a Pedro Munhoz on March 3, following a loss to Marlon Moraes on November 11. He has landed 41% of his strikes, and is nine for 29 on grappling tries. He has landed 85% of his standing strikes.

PICK: Jimmie Rivera will improve to 22-2, and shake off the Moraes before Dodson is able to. The Magician is Magic free.

Charles Byrd (-179) vs. Darren Stewart (+151)

The 34-year-old Byrd will be fighting for just the fourteenth time. He has gone 9-4 so far, earning a win over John Phillips in his last bout on March 17. He has landed 79% of his strikes, all which came from the ground. The Dallas, Texas native looks for win number 10.

His opponent, 27-year-old Darren Stewart, has gone 8-3 in his career. His win over Eric Spicely on May 27 snapped a three-match losing skid. It was good to finally see him on top again. He still has a lot to shake off, with this skid. He has landed 44% of his strikes (55% standing), and is six for 14 on grappling tries.

PICK: Charles Byrd will hand Stewart a 4th loss in five fights. He’s struggled of late and that will continue. Byrd will spread his wings and FLY to victory.
