Game Preview

The Vipers played a close game against the Renegades in Week 1, but Arington snuck out a win. Vegas scored a touchdown in the final minutes, but it wasn’t enough to get the win.

Luis Perez finished with 249 yards passing three scores, and a pair of interceptions as three Vegas players finished with four or more catches. Jeff Badet was the star of the show, finishing with six catches for 81 yards and two scores — all team-highs.

The Defenders survived a late Sea Dragons drive to get the win at home. Jordan Ta’amu struggled a bit, going just 8-of-19 for 86 yards with zero touchdowns and an interception.

The running attack didn’t do much better, either, but they totaled 84 yards and two scores on 33 carries.

However, Michael Joseph had a pair of interceptions, including a pick-six, as the defense led the way for the Defenders (no pun intended).

Prediction

The Defenders’ offense struggled mightily despite getting the win, and perhaps a change at QB is in the works. Nonetheless, the Vipers did lose their Week 1 game, but Vegas played well in most facets and watched Luis Perez have a decent debut, despite a pair of interceptions.

Vegas comes home, and the Vipers keep the Defenders’ offense in check and get the victory. Vegas HC Rod Woodson also gets his first win under his belt.
