Arlington Renegades-8.5 (-110)

Game Preview

The odds for this contest are staggering. However, things are not going well in Orlando. Head coach Terrell Buckley publicly threw his team under the bus. Former NFL QB Paton Lynch was benched only for replacement QB Quinten Dormady to get cut by the team for reportedly giving the playbook to opposing teams.

That’s a horrible look, and the Guardians are quickly becoming the laughingstock of the XFL and are going downhill quickly.

The Renegades have gone 1-1 with Drew Plitt as the starting quarterback. He struggled against the Houston Roughnecks throwing two interceptions and completing just 50 percent of his passes.

As such, Arlington decided to insert Kyle Sloter in as the team’s starter, and doing so against Orlando is the perfect opportunity against probably the worst team in the XFL.

Sloter played in the USFL last year and is making his first start since then, and former NFL under Marquette King was fun to watch so far this year.

Prediction

This can’t be repeated enough: The Guardians are going downhill quickly, and Paxton Lynch might be forced to play gain. The Renegades might benefit from starting Kyle Sloter, and with this game in Arlington, the 8.5-point spread should easily be covered by the Renegades.
