Super Bowl LVI is set to take place on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California. The winners of the NFC, the Los Angeles Rams, will lock horns with the AFC champs, the Cincinnati Bengals, in a battle for the Lombardi Trophy.
As always, the NFL Championship game is expected to attract a lot of attention. The Super Bowl is traditionally the most-watched TV broadcast in the United States, with a viewership of well over 100 million most of the time.
Apart from being loved by sports fans, the game is also adored by sports bettors. According to research by the American Gaming Association, Americans are expected to wager nearly $8 billion on the Super Bowl LVI. That number is even higher if you count in bettors from other parts of the planet.

Oddsmakers see the Rams as a five-point favorite in the Super Bowl LVI. No surprise there as the game is played on their turf. Further, the Rams roster is packed with superstars who have experience with big games – Matt Stafford, Aaron Donald, Von Miller.
Some of those guys have already played in the NFC Championship game. For example, Donald was a part of the Rams’ team that played the Super Bowl LIII, while Miller won the Super Bowl LV as a Denver Broncos player.
Meanwhile, the Bengals roster is way less experienced. In fact, two of their biggest stars – Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase – are still in their early 20s.
Burrow is Cincinnati’s sophomore quarterback, while Chase arrived at Paul Brown Stadium after being selected as the fifth overall pick at the 2021 NFL Draft.

We do know that the Bengals have what it takes to avoid a blowout loss, but do they have the quality to actually win the Lombardi Trophy?
Before the 2021 NFL season started, the Vegas odds on the Bengals winning the Super Bowl LVI were as long as +17500. This fact shows that the bookmakers didn’t have faith in them.
Further, the odds of them getting ahold of the AFC Championship were +7500, but these guys still managed to win it.
Fast-forward to February 2022 and the Bengals are once again the underdogs. The odds on them beating the Rams are +165.
Still, this team has already slain a couple of giants this season. The best example is the win over the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game, in which the Bengals were priced at +270.

In the three postseason games, the Rams averaged 28.0 points per game. The Bengals did a bit worse, with 24 PPG. When it comes to the defense, the LA team’s been conceding 18.3 points in the playoffs, while the Bengals’ average is 19.7.
Knowing these facts, it’s not crazy to think this is going to be a high-scoring Super Bowl. The question is are we going to see more than 49 points on Sunday evening? We did see it in six of the previous ten Super Bowls.
