Game Preview
The 76ers are among the lowest-placed teams in the East NBA standings, and we need to say that we saw this coming. How? Simply, they are injury-prone, and Joel Embiid is a liability, not an advantage. Yes, we said this and aren’t afraid to mention it again.
They lost the previous two events, both at home, to the Clippers 125-99 and the Rockers 122-115 following overtime, and then beat the Pistons on the road, 111-96. Believe it or not, the Sixers are the second-worst scoring team in the NBA, with 105.1 points per game.
Charlotte Hornets are slightly better, averaging 107.5 points per game, which is enough for 27th place out of 32. Furthermore, they won’t have LaMelo Ball, which is a big problem, but it will also give the team a chance to grow and improve since it is completely subordinate to Ball.
Despite losing five in a row, the Hornets were highly competitive in the previous three events, when they lost to the Heat and the Knicks by a combined difference of eight points. Vasilije Micic must step up and replace LaMelo, mostly through playmaking and assisting rather than scoring. He had 15 points, eight boards, and five assists vs. the Hawks.
