NCAAB: Seton Hall vs #12 Creighton Odds, and Picks (Feb 28)

By Β· Updated 2 months ago
  • Seton Hall continues to climb further up the bubble, after beating Butler 76-64.
  • Creighton had a rough game at St. John’s on Sunday, losing by a score of 80-66.
  • These two teams last faced off on January 20, in a game that Creighton won 97-94.

Selection Sunday is less than a month away! Let’s look at the upcoming matchup between the Seton Hall Pirates and the Creighton Bluejays. Seton Hall is right on the bubble, and needs to pick up a victory here.

Preview

Seton Hall has won five of their last six games, surging from outside the field to the Last Four In category of the projected NCAA Tournament bracket. The Pirates still sit precariously on the bubble, needing to keep up their winning ways to stay on track for an at-large bid. Road games against Creighton and UConn this week will be brutal tasks, but also offer Seton Hall with two golden opportunities to earn ranked wins.

Creighton had their four-game winning streak snapped at St. John’s on Sunday, dropping to 20-8 on the season. The Bluejays are still in excellent position, remaining on track to receive a 3 or 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament. They’re mathematically eliminated from winning the Big East’s regular season title, but can still build the momentum needed to make a run in the Big East tournament. Their experience will be key.

Prediction

This should be a well-fought matchup between two solid Big East teams. Seton Hall currently sits in 3rd place in the conference, with Creighton a half of a game behind in 4th. Despite that, the Pirates are eight seed lines lower than the Bluejays, due to subpar non-conference play. They’ll be more desperate for a win than Creighton here, but still face an uphill battle on the road. I see the Bluejays winning by single digits.

NCAAB Picks:

  • Creighton 81, Seton Hall 75 (HALL +7.5)
