Preview

Washington State turned a 3-game losing streak into a 3-game winning streak, continuing to play at a high level, albeit inconsistently. Despite the Cougars having a subpar year, they are still set up to compete for back-to-back Pac-12 titles. Charlisse Leger-Walker is shooting a career low 24% from 3, and averaging about 4 points less than her career average. When she heats back up, the Cougars will be tough to beat.

USC’s defeat against Colorado marked their 2nd loss in a row. Both came on the road against ranked teams, but the Trojans have much to work on after scoring just 58.5 ppg in those two matchups. They have been led all season by Freshman phenom JuJu Watkins, who is 2nd in the NCAA in scoring. Watson scored 46 points in those two games, indicating USC needs to find more offensive support around her.

Prediction

The Pac-12 has been one of the deepest conferences this season, which has made for some excellent games. Despite USC’s 2-game losing streak, they should be the better team in this game. That being said, the Cougars have better depth and a more balanced roster, which could provide them with a path to win if Watson has a bad shooting night. Ultimately, I don’t see them pulling it off on the road. I’ll take USC here.

NCAAW Picks:

  • USC 74, Washington State 65 ()
