  • Duke was overwhelmed by Florida State, losing 38-20, and falling to 5-2.
  • Louisville had a poor showing against Pittsburgh, losing by a score of 38-21
  • These two teams last met on November 18, 2021, in a game Louisville won 62-22.

The college football season is past the midway point. Let’s preview the upcoming Duke vs Louisville game. Both of these teams are fighting for positioning in the ACC, with a title game appearance still within reach.

How to Watch

  • ESPN

Duke took their 2nd loss in the past 3 games on Saturday, after falling 38-20 to Florida State. The Blue Devils have had a very solid season, but are now 0-2 against currently ranked teams. If they want to avoid an 8-4 record, they’ll need to turn it around soon, with road games at #18 Louisville and #17 North Carolina still to play. Duke’s defense has been their biggest asset. They’ll aim to get back on track against Louisville.

Louisville took their first defeat of the year in a stunning loss to 1-5 Pittsburgh. After starting out 6-0 with a great 13-point win over Notre Dame, the Cardinals collapsed last week. Their defense, which hadn’t let up more than 28 points since Week 1, really struggled. Louisville also turned the ball over 3 times, which was a major reason for the loss. They still have a chance to reach the ACC Championship, but need a win here.

Both the Cardinals and Blue Devils underperformed last week, leading to double-digit losses. The main difference being that Duke lost to 6-0 Florida State, while Louisville lost to 1-5 Pittsburgh. That would make it seem like Duke is in better shape, but I actually see these teams matching up pretty evenly. I expect a low-scoring, defensive game, with Louisville emerging victorious at home by a small margin.
