Ole Miss is an interesting team to keep an eye on the CFP race. Their only loss came on the road against Alabama. If they can win their road game against Georgia, that loss would be basically forgotten, and the rest of their schedule isn’t bad. Before they worry about facing #1 Georgia, the Rebels have to focus on defeating Auburn on the road. Their offense has been a bit inconsistent, which they can’t have this week.

Auburn fell to 0-3 in SEC play with their loss to LSU. After keeping it close with Georgia the week prior, the Tigers had earned some momentum, but that quickly evaporated back on the road. They’ve outscored the opposition 124-54 in their three home games, while being outscored 85-42 on the road. That means they should have a chance at home against Ole Miss. They need the offense to get going to have any real shot.

Prediction

Both of these teams have somewhat struggling offenses, which makes them both susceptible to losing. Auburn has the advantage of being at home, but Ole Miss should still be able to overwhelm them. The Tigers haven’t fared very well in SEC play so far, which is unlikely to change against a top-15 team, even at home. I don’t see a blowout happening, but I feel pretty good about taking Ole Miss to win and cover.
