The Eastern Conference finals continue on Monday, as the Carolina Hurricanes will be searching for a response when they travel to FLA Live Arena. The Panthers already hold a 2-0 series advantage, and they could move to within one victory of the Stanley Cup finals on Monday.

It has been a thrilling start to the Eastern Conference finals, but the contest overall could be near its conclusion. The Florida Panthers will be aware that two home victories in the next two games will secure their spot in the Stanley Cup finals. They have already caused a number of shocks in the playoffs this term, eliminating both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins.

The Panthers moved into a 2-0 series advantage over the weekend, as they followed up their dramatic game one win with another overtime success in Carolina. Florida levelled the scores in the second period, before scoring a dramatic winner in the overtime period.

It was nothing less than the Panthers deserved, as they were clinical in front of goal against the Hurricanes. Their goals in the success were netted by Matthew Tkachuk and Aleksander Barkov. Meanwhile, Sergei Bobrovsky ended the night with 37 saves from 28 shots to average .974.

Things started well for the Hurricanes in game two, as they opened the scoring in the first period. However, Jalen Chatfield’s effort would be as good as it got for the Hurricanes over the weekend. They will now be aware that this first game in Florida will be pivotal to their chances of reaching the Stanley Cup finals this season.
